#SuperBowl50: Peyton Manning Fulfills His Legacy With Second Championship; Broncos Stuff Cam & The Panthers!
#SuperBowl50 #SanFrancisco Peyton Manning, Von Miller and the Denver Broncos stuffed Cam Cam (Newton) and the Carolina Panthers, 24-10 in perhaps one of the most electric Super Bowls of all-time last night! I think when the media spotted Cam at the airport with the ridiculous zebra pants that may have made him a target and helped the Broncos realize that he is only human; the Broncos sacked Cam in front of their end-zone and ran it in to go ahead 10-0 early in the game! Ironically, Broncos’ outside linebacker Von Miller who made the devastating sack and forced fumble (and later named Super Bowl MVP) was recruited #2 right behind Cam in the same 2011 draft! Cam-a-lam and the Panthers didn’t even get an opportunity to do their new dance move, the ‘dab’ lol, as the Broncos led the entire game! This goes to show that these athletes don’t need this over-the-top antics to be the best, just shut your mouth and prove it on the field, not in the pre-game team pic or en route to the airport especially against the No. 1 defense in the NFL. #StopIt
Djokovic Prevails Over Murray To Collect Sixth #AussieOpen Title!
#Srbija #1 #Djokovic Novak prevailed over #UK #2 Andy Murray 6-1, 7-5, 7-6 to collect his record sixth Australian Open (#AussieOpen) Title and eleventh Major (tying Björn Borg and Rod Laver)! #Djokovic was almost flawless in the service game, and remarkable still so in the return game! Murray was no push over, even went toe-to-toe in the second set and forced a tie-break in the third set, but #Djokovic stayed determined and held on! #Djokovic (almost) successfully completed the calendar slam (winning all four majors) in 2015, and still is just getting better and better; having former German star tennis baller Boris Becker as your coach doesn’t hurt.
Messi & His Father Caught Up In Tax Fraud Case; Could Serve Jail Time?!
There is no silver lining to this story, and Spain is not allowing wealth to uphold impunity. Lionel Messi, one of the top paid athletes in the world, FC Barcelona forward, will stand trial with his father, Jorge, for intentionally not paying taxes from endorsement earnings (defrauding Spain) from 2007-2009 amounting to about $5 million dollars. The judge in the case rejected requests from prosecutors to drop the charges on the star soccer/futbal player and his father, and they will have to stand trial with no date set yet. Lawyers from the tax authority are lobbying for a 22-month sentence for both Lionel and his father. Lionel and his father are denying any knowledge of wrongdoing and intentional fraud.
