On Sunday afternoon, 5-time NBA Champion and 17-time All-Star Kobe Bryant, who broke into the NBA at the tender age of 18, announced that he will retire at the conclusion of this season! Kobe is an international icon known worldwide! He actually grew up in Italy, as his dad (Joe Bryant) played professionally overseas from 1984 to 1992! He will retire being the only player in NBA history to play 20 years for the same franchise, the LA Lakers, and third all-time in scoring!

Saturday night after Memphis Grizzlies’ Matt Barnes FaceTime’d his 6-year old twin sons, Carter and Isaiah, he found out that former Laker teammate (2010-2012) and “friend” Derek Fisher was at his ex-wife’s house?! The kids were confused because the break up is still fresh, and they thought Fisher was Barnes’ friend , not playing house…

The NY Yankees paid tribute to Yogi Berra, who passed away on Sept. 22 at 90 years old, coincidentally exactly 69 years from his MLB debut. He lived beyond his years, and played beyond his peers; accomplishing 18 All-Star appearances, 15 consecutively. He was also an astounding 10-time World Series Champion with the NY Yankees, and even played and coached briefly crosstown for the NY Mets later in his career…

The NY Knicks entered MSG last night on the heels of a 16-game losing streak, and ended the game with the feeling of momentary triumph! The Knicks staved off the New Orleans Pelicans 99-92, and man it’s been a long time coming… almost an exhale for many Knick fans who anxiously watched the Knicks lose night-in and night-out and post a ridiculous 6-36 record! I mean everyone in NY was ready to pop bottles… just for a regular season win!

Kobe did it again, as he hit another milestone! He became the first player in NBA HISTORY to fetch 6,000 assists with over 30,000 points (32,123 career regular-season points)! Amazingly, he also hit his 20th career triple-double (31 points, 11 boards, and 12 assists) at the same time in 119-112 OT win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday!

This is just plain dirty! I can’t even wrap a thought around it! Ravens’ explosive running back Ray Rice got served only a two-game suspension and $58K fine for he straight knocked out his then-fiancée, Janay Palmer, in an elevator back in February?! Should the NFL gives stricter suspensions for proved cases?
