#AllHandsOnDeck… The NY Yankees have cut the gap (in the AL East) to three games back from the first place Toronto Blue Jays following a wild, dramatic 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays tonight! Here is the story…
The Yankees were trailing 1-0 in the top of the ninth (inning) with two outs, when Brett Gardner started things off with a four pitch walk! Gardner stole second base easily while A-Rod settled in at the plate! Then BANG! BANG! A-Rod slaps a RBI Double in the gap to score Gardner and tie the game at 1-1! The Rays then intentionally walk hot hitting Brian McCann putting a man on first and second (for the Yankees)! #Rookie Slade Heathcoat (pic above), who replaced Carlos Beltran in the line-up, stepped up to the plate and almost immediately delivered a startling three-run home run to the opposite field! Yankees’ reliever Andrew Miller then took care of business striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth!
