At the #USOpenFinal, the crowd was a little (a lot) silly cheering when Novak Djokovic missed shots and sometimes yelling stupid phrases when he served. Fortunately, Djokovic tuned out the BS, and thrived beating Roger Federer 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4! Djokovic has won three Majors this year (Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open), and now has 10 Majors in his career! He is catching up with Rafael Nadal with 14 Majors, and Federer who is still the king with 18 Majors. I do not know what is happening with Nadal, but I hope he makes his way back on the court; especially clay which is his best surface. I am very upset with the lack of sportsmanship from the crowd. A lot of the fans obviously do not know what they are cheering for, and many tonight know nothing about the game; its plain silly! Tennis is a sport of chivalry and sportsmanship, not an abomination of a class act from a third world country, Serbia. In fact, I am embarrassed by the crowds lack of sportsmanship, as I grew up and lived over 20 years in New York. Its entirely different to cheer for Federer when he makes a shot, than cheer for Federer when Djokovic misses a shot; even if the crowd is lopsided. Federer isn’t even from the US; hes from Switzerland folks! 😉
