BRAWL ERUPTS at St. John’s-Notre Dame Game! [Photo]

“As a coach, and I’m sure Mike [Brey, Notre Dame’s coach] would agree, you never want anything that’s going to detract from the game and you want everything to stay within the spirit of good sportsmanship,’’ St. John’s coach Steve Lavin said.

“And yet I’ve also been in the game long enough to know that at times tempers flare and people lose their composure. In a business like college basketball, stakes are high and sometimes we do things as coaches or our players do things that we’re not proud of.’’ – nypost

..nuff said A BRAWL ERUPTED towards the end of the Notre Dame-St. John’s game last night in South Bend, IN… Here’s the story… Already a man down after the D’Angelo Harrison suspension and on their way to their biggest loss of the season 66-40 with 1:46 to go… St. John’s guard Sir Dominic Pointer (15) seemed to be arguing with Notre Dame’s Cameron Biedscheid (1) out of frustration, while a teammate was shooting free-throws at the stripe! As the players broke off the line after the made free-throws and set up for an in ball play, Biedscheid seemed to have flailed his arm at Pointer! Pointer reacted with a lunging right jab! The teams then jumped in the mix, and punches were thrown! Pointer and Biedscheid were ejected, and St. John’s forward Amir Garrett was ejected for leaving the bench! Both Pointer and Biedscheid will automatically be served a one-game suspension!
